Can it heal where others before have failed?

Airbus 380 was in Dubai on 17th August and I was super excited about it. I signed up to be apart of the team operating it, probably along with hundreds of other crews. Obviously, I wasn't selected. =( But I just found this article written by a fellow crew, Jeevz Angel and it had me super excited all over again so I thought I would share the article.

"Hiiyaaa

I had a lovely time today operating the a-380
It is a silent gentle giant as described by many ppl - and it truly is !!
Take off was real short n quite. It is both spacious and one would not feel tired after a long journey. It has many new features like an automatic door opening function by the touch of a button, better lavatories, numerous arrangements for the galleys, 2 lifts to transfer trolleys among the 2 decks, amazing configuration and options for arrangements of seats, crew bulk rest with a separate one close to the cockpit for the flight crew, stairways on both the aft n fwd of the cabin, side storage units below the windows, wooden floor paneling, open bar counters and storage spaces, social areas, large wing span.

In short come and explore for urself and keep discovering. Its like 2 planes flying on top of one another. It has a total of 16 doors - 10 in the lower or main deck while 6 in the upper deck. the boarding was done in zones which will def reduce the time that we face while boarding pax.

It is a big daddy of aircrafts and is the future of air travel. The no of crew who operated it was 22 excluding the flight deck. Today we just flew over Dubai and pax were served with special snack boxes to remember the first flight. They were also handed out t-shirts and cds from airbus as take away. We also had numerous managers from various departments to add to the pax list. Once service was complete pax were allowed to check out aircraft deck by deck. There was a lot of confusion and photo sessions and this continued till captain made a pa to ask them to return back to their seats - lot of excitement on the atmosphere - ppl were actually taking pictures of the toilets we had onboard. u know how it starts - one takes a pic n the rest follows not knowing why : hehe !!

well that was the story for today - only thing is that we had to do it twice !! first flight was form 10.00 am till 12.00 noon and then the second was from 2.00pm till abt 4.00pm. I got home feeling famished after a hard days work :) by abt 5.00 pmTomorrow the same story would be told except with different passengers.
so till then enjoy the snaps that I have in store for u on my profile : http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=3934&id=505834929

cheers,
jeevz"

"an automatic door opening function by the touch of a button" *gasp* its like a dream come true! You have no idea how I struggle pushing those super heavy doors open! And I had to do it over and over again during training college. =X
I cant wait for the big bird to come. One more year to go! I hope by then I will be a Grade1! *fingers crossed*
